Experienced Pre Construction / Bid Manager required with major build contractor in London – working on both one and two-stage tenders, up to a value of £100m.
About the Client: Ógie are recruiting on behalf a large Main Contractor who are operating throughout London and the UK.
The company has elevated itself to a turnover of £400m + and has ambitions to operate and compete within the Tier 1 Main Contracting market in London. They are a national privately owned contractor, specialising in Commercial / mixed-use / Student accommodation and Leisure projects – mostly will be new build, with some refurbishment and also cut and carve.
About the Role: As Pre Construction/Bid Manager you act as a lead for the project/bid team, to ensure that the bid is prepared in accordance with an agreed timetable and that it is complete and addresses in the Contractor’s Proposals, the issues raised in the Employer’s Requirements. The role will be within a Pre-Construction Team of 10 and reports directly to the Pre Construction Director.
About the Requirements:
- The company is ideally looking for a candidate who holds and a Degree/HND Level qualification in a relevant Construction-Industry related discipline, and who has a stable employment background.
- Have a background in Planning/Design Management/Project Management or Estimating.
- A strong background with Major Contractors (Principle Contractor only)
- Previous work in a bid management role with Central London experience
- Experience working on main stream construction projects such as Education, Healthcare, Prisons, Commercial, Leisure, Industrial or Hotel projects. (Residential projects are limited)
- Fine attention to detail and working design, ensuring initial design can be adapted to meet on-site conditions.
- Excellent written and communication skills.
- Strong team leadership qualities.
